We are looking for an experienced and passionate National Sales Manager, Japan to expand our phenomenal growth in Japan market.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

❖ Account Management & Development

  • Be the lead point of contact for matters specific to the assigned sales accounts in Japan.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with the customer account personnel, especially with the decision influencers and decision makers.

  • Strategize pricings, negotiate contracts and follow up towards closing of agreements.

  • Ensure timely and successful delivery of our products and solutions according to customer needs and objectives.

  • Constantly explore new business opportunities or offer new business ideas to customers to expand mutual growth.

  • Forecast and track customer account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts).

  • Ensure timely billings to customers.

❖ Business Development

  • Monitor and keep abreast of Japan market potential and trends for the company products, especially for unattended payment, transit payment, environmental management IoT. Based on such market intelligence, actively propose strategies to stay ahead of competition and win customers.

  • Actively engage potential clients to update offerings, understand needs, and acquire market information.

  • Win new clients by closely following up on actions to clients’ requests, including quotations, proposals, contracts, specifications and sample evaluation.

  • Coordinate with relevant teams within the company – project management, R&D, and operations – to ensure timely and satisfactory responses to customers.

  • Participate in trade shows and industry conferences to collect market intelligence and network with relevant industry players.

❖ Leadership

  • Lead one local sales executive for the start

  • Supported by one local Technical Support Manager

Qualifications

● Mandatory

  • At least 5 years of experience in B2B sales or business development in Technology sector, servicing Japanese customers

  • Native Japanese and business level in spoken and written English

  • Passion and interest in cutting edge technology, and using it to better lives of people

  • Highly self-motivated, take initiative to learn and to find out answers

● Preferred

  • Business development and sales experience in companies providing one of below products and services:
    ■ NFC devices
    ■ Payment and POS terminals and systems
    ■ Public transit fare collection systems
    ■ Electronic devices or systems in general
    ■ Semiconductors

  • Ability to communicate, present, and influence, while having attentive listening skills

  • Strategic thinker, does not simply react but consider the possible reactions from others before reacting

● Big Plus

  • Background or knowledge in electronics/electrical and software engineering

  • Experience working in a multi-national company

  • Network with players in the payment industry, particularly PNOs (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, etc) and acquirers (financial institutions)

  • Experience or interest in IoT systems

Screening

Applications are shortlisted and reviewed. Suitable candidates undergo a brief phone screening to discuss their background, experiences, and career goals. This step ensures compatibility with our development orientation and culture. Screening calls typically occur 5-7 days after application submission. 

Technical Interview

Shortlisted candidates are invited for technical interviews, either in person or online. Applicants in Singapore may need to complete an Application Form before the interview. During the technical interview, candidates demonstrate their expertise, professional background, and problem-solving abilities. The interview lasts 1 to 1.5 hours. 

Culture-Fit Interview

Following the technical interview, candidates proceed to the culture-fit interview round, which focuses on alignment with our cultural values. This stage involves behavioral questions and lasts about 30 minutes. 

* Reference Check

Reference checks are conducted for security-related roles only. The team uses 1 to 3 contact details provided by the candidate, and the outcomes serve as references in the decision-making process. 

Final Decision

The team evaluates the applicant based on all information gathered. Candidates are informed of the results within 7 days after the final round, except in special cases. If not chosen, your information will be retained for 6 months for potential future opportunities. All applicants will receive a thank-you email acknowledging their interest and effort.
