Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and innovative Mobile Development Manager to lead our engineering squad in Hanoi. In this pivotal role, you will not only manage the day-to-day delivery of high-performance mobile applications but also spearhead a transformation in how we build software.

You will play a key role in integrating AI-enabled workflows into our delivery process, managing complex resource demands, and acting as a technical bridge between our clients, internal stakeholders, and our engineering talent.

Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Resource Strategy (People & Process)

  • Lead & Motivate: Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of 8–20 mobile engineers. Foster a culture of accountability and high performance, ensuring the team remains motivated while distributed across various projects.
  • Resource Management: Masterfully balance supply and demand. You will oversee capacity planning, prioritizing delivery demands against available resources, and resolving conflicts to ensure project timelines are met without burning out the team.
  • Vendor Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for external partners. You must be adept at sourcing and engaging external vendors/contractors to augment delivery speed or plug skill gaps during peak demand.

2. Technical Excellence & Innovation

  • Cross-Platform Strategy: Provide technical leadership in Flutter development while maintaining deep knowledge of native capabilities. You will guide the team in leveraging mobile-specific features (e.g., NFC, Biometrics, GPS) to create seamless user experiences.
  • AI-Enabled Delivery Transformation: Lead the charge in modernizing our SDLC. You will identify and implement AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-automated testing, code review assistants) to increase efficiency and code quality.
  • AI Product Capabilities: Oversee the deployment of AI-enabled features within our mobile applications, working with data teams to integrate on-device ML or cloud-based AI services.

3. Business Acumen & Stakeholder Management

    • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will work closely with Product Managers, BAs, DevOps, and QA to ensure alignment on business goals.
    • Pre-Sales & Solutioning: Leverage your business domain acumen to support the sales process. You will be responsible for providing accurate effort estimates, feasibility studies, and technical solutioning for client proposals.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in a leadership role managing a mobile team of at least 8–20 engineers.
  • Technical Stack: Deep expertise in Cross-platform development (Flutter) and a strong understanding of Native (iOS/Android) ecosystems.
  • AI & Innovation: Proven interest or experience in AI-driven software engineering. You must be willing to explore and adopt new toolsets to optimize delivery.
  • Resource Planning: Demonstrated ability to manage complex resource grids, prioritizing conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic Outsourcing: Experience managing external vendors or offshore partners to scale delivery capacity.

Soft Skills & Competencies

  • Strong Business Acumen: Ability to understand the commercial implications of technical decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English. You must be comfortable presenting technical solutions to non-technical clients.
  • Adaptability: A mindset that embraces change, specifically regarding the adoption of AI and new development best practices.

Screening

Applications are shortlisted and reviewed. Suitable candidates undergo a brief phone screening to discuss their background, experiences, and career goals. This step ensures compatibility with our development orientation and culture. Screening calls typically occur 5-7 days after application submission. 

Technical Interview

Shortlisted candidates are invited for technical interviews, either in person or online. Applicants in Singapore may need to complete an Application Form before the interview. During the technical interview, candidates demonstrate their expertise, professional background, and problem-solving abilities. The interview lasts 1 to 1.5 hours. 

Culture-Fit Interview

Following the technical interview, candidates proceed to the culture-fit interview round, which focuses on alignment with our cultural values. This stage involves behavioral questions and lasts about 30 minutes. 

* Reference Check

Reference checks are conducted for security-related roles only. The team uses 1 to 3 contact details provided by the candidate, and the outcomes serve as references in the decision-making process. 

Final Decision

The team evaluates the applicant based on all information gathered. Candidates are informed of the results within 7 days after the final round, except in special cases. If not chosen, your information will be retained for 6 months for potential future opportunities. All applicants will receive a thank-you email acknowledging their interest and effort.
